Peppermint Befriends Sk Cody

Autor Winta Carson
en Limba Engleză Paperback
Children love animal stories, especially horse stories that are fast moving, action packed, full of sudden and unexpected obstacles and surprises in the paths of the major character(s). They often become mesmerized and continue to read if the stories' beginnings whet their appetites to find out through each episode what happens at the endings. The peppermint stories follow the life of a handsome, famous race horse that is so beloved by his owners the O'Malleys they retire him early while he is still young, healthy, and full of life. He won every race they entered him. They believed they owed him his freedom, for he had made them exceptionally wealthy. They even created a beautiful pasture just for him. None of the other horses could cross over to it. Crowds of fans visited him daily which kept him entertaind for a while, but because he was raised to race, he soon became bored. He missed the exciting life he had once lived. In addition to the boredom, he was constantly bullied by an older, retired race horse name Big Wiley. The big bully observed Peppermint as he grazed in the adjacent pasture. Even though he was also once famous, no one ever visited him, So, he became jealous of the young Peppermint and gave him no rest. Peppermint became fed up with the situation and decided to run away. Thereafter, his life took on many drastic and exciting turns but all rewarding. The Peppermint stories are written for children between the ages of six and nine. Most are short stories with almost four thousand to over six thousand words. There are pictures, challenges, and activities throughout some of the books but not all.
