Recenzii
This book is a masterpiece in a historical analysis informed by queer theory and sets an example for other similar studies of ancient and modern gender norms and their bending.
Sapsford has produced a valuable work from which students of ancient gender and sexuality will learn a great deal. It forces us to rethink much of what we thought we knew about this enigmatic and much-ridiculedfigure.
