Over the past decades catholic adult education has become a huge and important sphere of action for churches. In addition to religious and theological education, cultural and political education is offered as well as family support work, pedagogy, older adult education and health education.The authors of this anthology are scientists of various specialisms and educational practitioners. They look at the societal relevance of catholic adult education and develop perspectives for the future. They reflect on the existing provisions, structures and analyses. As a result the publication presents a wide range of conceptual and practical educational impulses for the work within confessional adult education.The anthology was published on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of organised adult education in the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart.
