Medicinal plants are a major source of biodynamic compounds of therapeutic values and are the basis of many traditional medicines throughout the world for thousands of years. The research regarding medicinal proerties of Carissa carandas has been accomplished in the Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), Dhaka, Bangladesh. The department is continuing its research activities since its inception in different fields, likely, Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Phytochemistry etc. Every year a number of research articles are being published in different reputed journals from this department. Mr. Kadir Assistant Professor of UAP has published a number of research articles in national and international journals in the field of Ethnomedicine, Neuropharmacology, Pharmaceutical Technology, Phytochemistry etc. Mr. Mohammad Shahriar, Assistant Professor of UAP has also published research articles in the field of Biotechnology, Phytochemistry and Microbiology. Sadia Mahmud was a research student in the Master program of the department under the supervision of Mr. Kadir and Mr. Shahriar.
