A history of picadilly, an important area of central London, from 1612, when Robert Baker erected the first buildings on what is known as Piccadilly, to the end of the 19th century. This work charts the arrival of the aristocracy in the later 17th century, which led to it being regarded as a very fashionable area from the 18th century onwards.
