A fictional tale set in the turbulent Seventies in one of Britain's oldest and smallest colonies. Pink Sand and Parasites is a powerful tale of love, intrigue and heart-stopping drama, set on the exquisite island of Bermuda. Jack Cross, a recently widowed teacher, arrives in Bermuda in the early Seventies to teach in one of the Islands' schools. After the trauma of loosing his wife, it's not long before he believes his luck has changed and he has arrived in paradise - the sun, the sea and the people beguile him and soon he is captivated by the Islands' enveloping charm. He meets the gorgeous Eloise and although intrigued by her beauty, is baffled by the air of mystery that constantly surrounds her. Jack is befriended by his neighbour Dilly and her family and learns that even the fabulous Bermuda has a dark underbelly. Although Dilly is sick, she is obsessed with saving her beloved Bermuda from the destructive, anti-colonial forces. Her efforts are complicated when her husband is inadvertently caught up in the Islands' drug trade. Before long, Jack too is caught up in a web of deceit that almost costs him his life. Unexpectedly a young, female, bigoted black lawyer enters his life. Jack is intrigued by her racial hatred and sets himself the challenge of changing her attitude. Racial tension, threats, abductions, violence, murder and finally the assassination of the Islands' Governor shock Bermuda leaving, Jack and his friends wondering what the future might hold.
