In management, just like in other areas of society, fashion and trends come and go at an ever increasing rate. Yesterday, it was re-engineering, today it is TQM, tomorrow it will change management. This little narrative is not intended to be just another fashionable theory. On the contrary, it traces the foundations on which the theories are based. The contents are presented from a philosophical and pragmatic perspective. Management is viewed from three approaches: pre-modern, modern and post-modern.
