There is a great challenge for missions in the Philippines. It is most responsive to the gospel and so many people are ripe for harvest. One of the evidences that the mission field is ripe for harvest is that there are so many various religious groups sprouting like mushrooms. You can see as you drive the main highways and streets of Metro Manila and in the big cities of the Philippines, that there are so many billboards and various signs about God and Jesus. There are also big churches of cults and mega-churches that belong to protestant groups. However, there are but few Biblical or Scriptural churches and there are many big cities without a true New Testament church. To say that the work of planting churches is done when there are so many cities without a Scriptural church and so many people are hungry for the word of God is to lose the opportunity for more souls to be won, and to leave them at risk of being won to false teachings and cults. The best way is to get involve in planting churches in most responsive areas to the gospel and build strong churches that are active in evangelism and discipleship to reach out to the many lost and hungry souls so that eventually, we can plant more churches both in the cities and in the rural areas. It does not mean that we do not sacrifice to plant churches in closed countries, but taking advantage of the mission fields where God has opened the door and there is an opportunity to build a strong work is a strategy so we can reach other countries. In this way, we can win more souls to Jesus, lead people to the truth, and rescue them from false teachings.
