Commissioned by the hip-hop magazine she works for, journalist Lola Maxwell sets out to write an article about the 'glamorous' lives of women who married multi-platinum-selling hip-hop artists. She starts by interviewing Beth Saddlebrook, wife of aging rapper Z, and soon realises that Beth's perfect world is not so perfect. As Lola slowly breaks her way into the guarded personal lives of these women, she fears she may have more in common with them than she originally thought. What if this is a glimpse of what her life will be with future husband and rising hip-hop star Birdie?
