Rainer Hirsch-Luipold is Professor of New Testament and History of Ancient Religions, Faculty of Theology, University of Bern and Extraordinary Professor, University of Stellenbosch (SA), Department of Ancient Studies. He has published monographs, articles and edited volumes on Plutarch, including: Rainer Hirsch-Luipold/Lautaro Roig Lanzillotta (eds.), Plutarch’s Religious Landscapes, Leiden 2021; Plutarchs Denken in Bildern. Studien zur literarischen, philosophischen und religiösen Funktion des Bildhaften, Tübingen 2002.
