Amos 8:11 says, "Behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord God, "when I will send a famine on the land not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord." When we recognize that many professing Christians in America do not read the Bible, is it any wonder we see the decline in behavior evident in our culture as so many have forgotten the Lord and what He has done for us. We print Bibles and ship them overseas to feed the hunger for God's Word so evident in other lands, and then forget to feed our own. "Point to Reading the Bible" is based on the principles of the original "Point to Reading" where we come to understand why so many adults do not like to read, and what we can do to change that for the future of our children. Considering that two out of three children in America lose their love of books and give up on reading by third grade, is it any wonder they become adults who can't force themselves to read the words of the Lord who saved them.
