HAROLD J. VANDERZWAAG is Professor Emeritus, Associate Department Head and Graduate Program Director of Sport Studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is the author of six previous books, is a past president of the Philosophic Society for the Study of Sport, and is a former editor of the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport.
