Pope Gregoryas Letter-Bearers: A Study of the Men and Women Who Carried Letters for Pope Gregory the Great

John Martyn, a graduate of Cambridge University, has been re-appointed recently as a Principal Fellow in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne. His book on the Pope's Special Concern for Women was published by Cambridge Scholars late in 2011, and a major work is nearing completion on a Gregorian illuminated manuscript, found by him in the Potter Museum on the campus of Melbourne University, to be published in 2012 by Macmillan Art. He is also an associate producer for an historical film, based on his book on The Siege of Mazagao (Peter Lang, 1994), which should be screened in 2013, as a Pixar, CG production. It is based on bitter conflict between Christianity and Islam in Morocco, in 1562.
