India and Israel, two eminent states of South Asia and West Asia are closely tied together in a bond of strategic relationship. Having common concerns regarding their security perspective and threat analysis especially post 9/11 scenario escorted them to develop relations in all spheres like; political, economic, cultural and more promising strategic. India, since her independence, maintained the strong pro-Arab policy despite of changing global scenario. End of cold War paved the way for India to establish diplomatic relations with Israel. In fact, switch in Indian policy was due to her own perceived national interest which played a pivotal role in shaping bilateral relationship. Since the relationship has matured into strategic partnership. However, their bilateral relations are viewed as potent threat for global peace and particularly a special concern for Pakistan, another important state of South Asian region.

Notă biografică

The author is a PhD Scholar and Research Associate in the Department of Politics & International Relations at International Islamic University, Islamabad, where she works on South Asian desk. She is also a visiting faculty member over there. She has keen insight into socio-political, economic and geo-strategic issues of South Asia and Middle East.
