Notă biografică

Ayelet Zohar is an artist, curator and visual culture researcher, currently a postdoctoral Japan Fund fellow at Freeman Spogli Institute, Stanford University. Zohar specialises in the research of contemporary Japanese visual culture in the territories of photography and video art. Zohar received a PhD in Fine Art (theory & practice) from the Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, University of London (2007). In 2005, she curated PostGender: Gender, Sexuality and Performativity in Contemporary Japanese Art, a large-scale exhibition of gender and sexuality representations in contemporary Japanese photography and video art, for the Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art, in Haifa (Israel). The current volume is the result of a conference held in the museum during this show.
