My primary audience is business people CEOs, leaders, managers, and executives who work in Fortune 500 and ASX 200 companies. These 21st–century business executives struggle with the day–to–day frustrations of communicating effectively and engaging with their employees and clients. No matter what they do in business, they will always be measured against two metrics: engaging people and delivering commercial results. They already have access to a lot of the literature on influence, but this audience has two pressing questions: What can I do better or differently, and what should I be doing as a professional that I am not currently doing? Many try or have tried hard power (coercion, command, and control) with their team and found it doesn t work, or works only temporarily. Most of them currently use soft power tools like collaboration, consulting and connecting. These are good and valid, but not enough. This book gives them a completely new tool box of ideas and techniques (like humour power, message power, and cause leadership power) that they have never considered before, but which could help them dramatically lift how they engage people and deliver results. This target audience is always looking for the next tool(s) to help them engage with people, develop or expand their impact, and deliver commercial results. They are also frustrated with conventional techniques that don t work or take too long. Their pain points are: How can I continue to be relevant as a leader, learn new skills that will help me stay ahead of my competitors, service my clients better, and ensure my professional success?
