When young Victor awakens in a rundown shack in the middle of the woods, he has no recollection of how he got there. His senses are attuned to such an acute pitch that he can see in the dark, hear heartbeats, and actually feel the synapses in his brain firing. In the attempt to understand what's happening, Victor begins to recall all the events that might have led him to this point in time, starting with the tragic car accident that claimed the life of his best friend and left him with a debilitating head injury. The offer comes out of the blue from the mysterious Dr. Walker, chief scientist at R.C. Labs-an isolated research facility in the heart of the Tongass National Forest in Ketchikan, Alaska. What Victor encounters at the clinic is totally unexpected. Yvette Montgomery, the love of his life-a girl he thought he'd lost years ago-is also a patient at R.C. Labs. They reconnect, and-for once-it seems, as if life's finally going Victor's way. But he should know better... Victor stops remembering the moment he realizes he's not alone in the shack. Sarah Grey, a beautiful medical inter-who has saved Victor from a wrongful death at the hands of Dr. Walker-soon awakens too. Victor demands an explanation, but there's no time. But as Victor is forced to use his new powers to protect Yvette and Sarah, Damian's wife gets killed in the middle of a havoc. Damian blames Victor and let his rage take control of his volition. Damian's powers increase tenfold after his complete turnabout to evil, and he swears vengeance against Victor, Sarah, and Yvette.
