Recenzii
“The next best thing to hearing Elaine Wilmore live and in person is to read Principal Induction. In this book, she transforms yet another set of standards-based hoops into understandable stories, providing new principals with what they are expected to know and do. There’s no one like Elaine who can spin a folksy yarn and teach the ELCC standards at the same time.”
“Finally! Elaine Wilmore has provided a practical and effective means for newly appointed school administrators to help themselves over the rough spots that all new school leaders face. Principal Induction provides a solid, research–based, standards–based framework to provide the critical support all new school leaders need to be successful.”
“With a rich mix of research and practice, this book is for all school administrators and especially for administrator preparation programs and district mentor programs targeting induction of new principals. Wilmore’s blend of practical and inspiring approaches is an exceptional addition to educational leadership that will be appreciated by all who read this book.”
“Judiciously written, this book captures both the essence and the edges of principal induction with a standards-based model.”
“The book provides a comprehensive guide for designing professional development geared toward the successful induction and socialization of principals into professional practice. Without a doubt, this book is a must-read for all new principals and their mentors as they embark on their leadership journey!”
“She does it again! In her down–to–earth, serious, yet humorous style, Elaine Wilmore has created a survival guide for beginning principals. Her translation of the ELCC standards into the daily reality of a principalship truly connects the dots between the theory and the practice of the standards.”
“The shortage of qualified candidates for school leadership positions has shortened the time between preparation program completion and appointment as a school leader. At the same time, school leadership has become much more challenging as principals are expected to change schools and increase student achievement. There has never been a time when induction was more needed for our nation’s school leaders. Principal Induction is a valuable resource for this vital area of school improvement.”
