Notă biografică
Guillem Pons-Lladò obtained his degree in the specialty of Cardiology in 1979. Since 1981 he has been Head of the Cardiac Imaging Unit (then Echo Section) at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, in Barcelona, Spain which today contains services of Echocardiography, Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR), and Cardiac Computed Tomography (CCT). He is author of more than 100 papers appeared in peer-reviewed journals and of several books. With Springer he published the “Atlas of Practical Applications of CMR” (2005) and the “Atlas of Non-Invasive Coronary Angiography by MDCT” (2006). He is Director of a Master Degree on Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and other training activities and courses focused on cardiac CT and MR techniques.
Textul de pe ultima copertă
This practically oriented book opensby describing the basic Cardiac MR (CMR) sequences and Cardiac CT (CCT)acquisition techniques, offering step-by-step guidelines on acquiring CMR andCCT studies and analyzing images. The main body of the book provides acomprehensive description of the study protocols most suitable for particulardiseases and discusses their respective rationales. In addition, it highlights keyfindings for every pathological condition, complemented by extensive illustrations. The book especially addresses the needs of junior cardiologists andradiologists embarking on the regular use of MR-based and CT-based cardiacimaging, though it also offers a valuable reference manual for seniorspecialists. Of particular benefit is the inclusion of both CMR and CCT,techniques which are usually treated separately, despite the regular use of bothat advanced Cardiac Imaging Units.
