Purple Bear goes to daycare and discovers she is not like the other bears. She is in a wheelchair and finds that makes it difficult to interact with the other bears and make friends. Children will develop language skills as they hear the rhyming text and will learn their colors from the different colored bears. The main concept of the book is that children with disabilities are unique and have a lot of the same abilities as a child without a disability.
