Quaker Theology is a progressive Journal and Forum for Discussion and Study. Founded in 1999, it publishes essays, reports and reviews on matters relating to the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). This issue includes: > an article on a Quaker approach to teaching interreligous dialogue; > a profile and reflections on an aged Friend who chose death by fasting; > a look back at Tom Fox, a Quaker peace worker who's kidnaped and murdered in Iraq in 2006; > reflections on same sex marriage by Quaker author Philip Gulley; > a major analysis of Quaker connections in Walt Whitman's early, pre-poetic writings; > updates on doctrinal controversies in North Carolina Yearly Meeting (FUM) and Northwest Yearly Meeting; > and a review of a new memoir by a Quaker who faced a faith crisis as well as grief when she lost her husband to a degenerative disease.
