Radiological Anatomy in Everyday Practice: Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and PET

Autor Christophe R. Chelle
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 31 ian 2011
Radiological anatomy in everyday practice The purpose of this book is to provide detailed information about anatomic structures as seen on cross sectional images obtained with computed tomography, MR imaging and PET scans. All body parts are presented on thin slices through the three imaging planes of reference. In each chapter the reader can follow the images of various structures as they are visible on CT, then MR imaging, then reconstructed images for very thin structures, followed by images obtained on PET scans. The body parts imaged are as follows: head, neck, chest, abdomen, female and male pelvic structures, the spine and other musculoskeletal anatomy followed by imaging of vascular structures. For studies necessitating comparison of various imaging techniques, as for example in diagnostic oncology, PET-CT images are also associated. Several drawings and graphs help with recalling the anatomy of certain regions. Normal values for the size of certain anatomical structures are given. All images have been taken with state-of-the-art medical equipment and images are of high quality and good resolution. We hope to be of use to medical students, residents, technicians and practising radiologists in their everyday work.
