Radiological Imaging of the Ureter: Medical Radiology / Diagnostic Imaging

Editat de Francis Joffre, Philippe Otal, Michel Soulie
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 3 mar 2003

Owing to its central position in the retroperitoneal and pelvic cavity, the ureter is rapidly affected by a variety of pathological processes. Furthermore, any disease involving the ureter can also have an effect on the kidneys. For several decades, the diagnosis of diseases affecting the ureter was based on intravenous excretory urography and techniques of direct opacification. However, the diagnostic strategy has been extensively modified by the advent of helical computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. This book, the first to focus specifically on ureteral imaging, covers both the new and the traditional techniques. Their use in the variety of scenarios involving ureteral disease is clearly elucidated with the aid of high-quality informative images.

Recenzii

From the reviews:
"This book is the latest in the Medical Radiology Series from Springer … . It is a multi-author collaboration of predominantly French origin … . The standard of English is excellent for a French text … . Each chapter is well and extensively referenced … . In summary, this text covers virtually every aspect of imaging of the ureter by radiology, ultrasound, CT and MRI methods … . It is difficult to conceive of a more comprehensive review of the ureter than this … ." (Dr J R Harding, RAD Magazine, November, 2003)
"This unique book on radiological imaging of the ureter, edited by three well-known French radiologists, deals exclusively with the ureter … . The book is well structured. Excellent diagrams and rich pathologies are provided on the topic of true ureteral metastases … . In summary, the authors can be congratulated on their unique book on diagnostic aspects of ureretal disease, in which the important role of ureteral imaging is stressed. It can be recommended to practitioners and professionals, clinicians and scientists." (T. J. Vogel, European Radiology, Vol. 14 (8), 2004)
