TAKE A SECOND, close your eyes and picture a particular cause that you believe in. It could be a cause or a charity, it could be the environment or perhaps it is protecting children, disaffected people, or even wildlife. What did you picture, what could you make better? Did you see a disease that has affected your life or the life of someone you love, did you see people who were underprivileged, did you see a need for medical research or did you see an image of a doe-eyed homeless puppy, or even a species, which is being wiped out by human civilisation? Is your one true passion the arts? What makes your heart race when you think about the cause you just thought of? What is the one situation you encountered that you want to make a positive contribution to, in any way possible? Each day, people see need. Young people are becoming more causal because of speed of communication and expansion of knowledge. Older folks often see missed opportunity and want to correct that. Chances are that something similar has happened to you.
