Notă biografică
Ed resides in Shokan, New York with his wife Lois; both are retired. They have four grown children and ten grandchildren. He spent half his working years employed by the IBM Corporation and the other half teaching mathematics in New York's public school system. Other than family, his passion is trout fishing which he began at an early age and has been flyfishing for Catskill trout since the late 1960s. And he is lucky enough to fish over one-hundred-fifty days most years with the majority of this time spent on two watersheds that drain Slide Mountain: Esopus Creek and the Neversink. In 1969 as a junior in college he joined Trout Unlimited and has been a continuous member of that organization since. Currently he is involved in the Ashokan-Pepacton Watershed Chapter of Trout Unlimited, as well as maintaining memberships in other regional organizations.Given years of involvement with trout stream conservation, he received several local, regional, and national recognitions for these activities including the Salmo Award from Theodore Gordon Flyfishers in 1981 and Trout Unlimited National's Trout Conservation Award in 1982. In April of 2018 the Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum recognized Ed as a Catskill Legend. He has several published articles on education and trout fishing, writes a standing column for the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild newsletter, and in 2012 published the book Ramblings of a Charmed Circle Flyfisher.
