This biography of native American chief Sore-Belly, war-lord of the Crows, is a thorough and unique account of the life and times of the greatest Crow war-chief who raised the Crows to the ascendancy they once achieved on the Northern High Plains. In the eighteenth and early nineteenth century the pursuit of intertribal warfare was an inseparable element of the Plains Indians' day-to-day existence with one hostile act being reciprocated by another, creating a never-ending cycle of aggression between the tribes.
