As a reaction to rationalism and functionalist Moderne, the post-modern style developed in the 1970s; the idea was that architecture was to acquire a new identity by employing traditional means. The search for a joint cultural heritage also put into question the dichotomy between East and West. The contributions analyze discrepancies in architectural theory and the processes that led to a revaluation in the history of architectural production.
