She completed her PhD from the Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute, Kolkata India, registered under Jadavpur University in Life Sciences. She received a NET-CSIR Research Fellowship. During her PhD she has worked on the toxicological and carcinogenic effects of air pollutants on human health. After completing her PhD, she has worked on stem cell culture as a Research Associate at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore, India. Presently she is working on immunological and biochemical aspects of oral cancer and oral diseases.
Somali Sanyal, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, India. She received her PhD from the Karolinska Medical University, Stockholm, Sweden. During her PhD she has worked on molecular epidemiology of urinary bladder cancer. After her PhD she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Karolinska Medical University, Stockholm, Sweden. Later on she moved to the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India, as a Research Associate. Her current research focuses on genetic aspects of head and neck, oral, and gall bladder cancer. She has published several research articles in journals of national and international repute.

Recenzii
“One of the few books that sheds light on the causes and mechanisms of the disease itself as well as the possible therapeutic aspects. The book contains intricately woven chapters on cell cycle checkpoints on cancer, oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, apoptosis, cell signaling, angiogenesis and metastasis. The modern approaches toward cancer diagnosis and therapy, like cancer stem cell, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, and nanoparticle-based therapy, have also been thoroughly covered. The contributors of each and every chapter are experts in their respective field and have summarized their research findings in a very concise manner. The best part of the book is that the chapters have been grouped into major divisions to have continuity and synchronization among them. The volume can be used by students and researchers who are working in the field of cancer. It covers new approaches toward cancer treatment and therefore may be useful handbook for clinicians. Overall, this informative volume covers the present knowledge and future direction on the field of cancer research.”
