In 1967 the Marine Corps Museum implemented a program designed to acquire and preserve the personal papers of former Marines for future students of history. The George C. Reid papers were received by the Marine Corps Museum in 1961 and provide representative insight into the career of a Marine Officer during the "golden years" of the Corps.
