Autor Larry E. Schutz, David Patterson, Mathu Hanson, Elizabeth A. McNamara, Kenyatta O. Rivers, Charles E. Hughes
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 31 iul 2010
The current epidemic of blast injuries to the brain deserves an urgent response, but it has not yet received one. In their most recent response, the military and post-military medical systems have hired a large complement of new staff to expand the limited care they provide to these survivors. Effective, advanced therapies for brain trauma (developed and refined at considerable cost in time and effort) are available through a small complement of experienced specialists, but not through the clinical generalists. This book reviews the strengths and weaknesses of the neurorehabilitation therapies that have been widely used, highlighting the features associated with treatment success and also recommends several technological innovations that can reduce the cost and increase the impact of the therapies.
