Remnants of Glory is artist Angela C. Costello's first novel loosely based on autobiographical elements of her life. This is a profound narrative about Shirley Ramona Raymond a twenty-something essentially Canadian girl born in the 'generation X' era of 1967. We open with Shirley making her move from London, Ontario to Vancouver B.C., where she traverses the painful notions involved with the establishment of her identity. With an observant eye, as Shirley matures, she takes the reader through her experiences in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Guadalajara, Mexico, and parts of South America. Remnants of Glory, takes on the themes of: cultural discoveries, the disappointments of failed romances, isolation, misplaced trust, womanhood, love in all forms, and an unending quest for a fully realized life. The author reveals her most bare emotional turmoil as she's being subject to the disparities of being blessed with intellect, while at the same time as being born to a family of thirteen children in the lower classes of Canadian society. This is a richly woven tome about being valiant in the face of adversity, and being in tune with the winds of change.
