Every generation of Americans has to fight for ourdemocracy the American dream of life, liberty, andthe pursuit of happiness. Maintaining our system ofindividual freedoms is not easy and it's not free. Itrequires a continued effort to maintain and grow it inadherence to the principles on which it was founded. Butthe unraveling of the fabric of our society and pervasive corruptionis choking our nation and undermining our freedoms.Action must be taken or more of our rights will slipthrough the cracks.The very founding of the United States was based on rebellionagainst oppression and suppression of individual rightsby the British government. Subsequently, the two governingdocuments of our country, the Declaration of Independenceand the Constitution, were crafted to ensure and protectthose very rights. We must be a generation that reads, believes, and defends these crucial documents.
