Revealing Matthew's Secrets

Autor Lacross, Jason D.
en Limba Engleză Paperback
Come with me as we go through the book of Matthew and discover secrets that have been kept for almost two thousand years. See the prophecies and parables in a new light in this one of a kind commentary that contains wisdom and truth found in every book of the Hebrew Scriptures. As we go chapter by chapter, you will learn more about the prophets that are quoted in the New Testament and learn how God describes Himself and things He wants you to know about his future plans. This book aims to put the words of the Creator in their original context in order to answer many of the questions left by the New Testament authors. Do you have unanswered questions burning in your soul? Were you discouraged from asking them? Would you like to know what the Creator says about asking questions? Has He set a limit on what you might ask? Indeed, the Holy One declares that your questions can range from the beginning of creation to the present day, and from one end of the heavens to the other. A person seeking answers is a person seeking to know their Creator. In fact, the Holy One reveals that we will find Him when we seek Him with our whole heart. "Indeed, ask now concerning the former days which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and inquire from one end of the heavens to the other." Deuteronomy 4:32 "Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:12-13 Moses tells us that we must know the difference between the Holy One's laws and false teachings. "then you shall investigate and search out and inquire thoroughly." Deuteronomy 13:14 Investigating, searching, and inquiring thoroughly is the only way to know your Creator as it says, "Be still, and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10 "For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life," Proverbs 6:23 Thus says the LORD, "Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16 "Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: " Deuteronomy 31:12 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein," Joshua 1:7 The goal of this book is to use the Hebrew Scriptures to examine the text in the book of Matthew and teachings found therein. The words of the Creator are found in the Hebrew Scriptures (also known as the Tanach, or Old Testament). The authors of the New Testament agree that the Hebrew Scriptures are the authority when they quote from it to support their writings. For these reasons, I have decided to use the Hebrew Scriptures as the standard and measuring rod to judge any claims and teachings in the New Testament. The commentary in this book contains quotes from every book in the Hebrew Scriptures. I have done this to show that the work is complete and consistent. I chose not to randomly take scripture out of context or misquote it in order to make a point. Instead, I aimed to keep my personal commentary to a minimum and let the words of the Creator speak clearly through the Hebrew Scriptures.
