Revelations

Autor Mel Donalson
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 13 feb 2017
Revelations is a collection of 40 poems that investigate the intricate contours of the author's emotions, experiences, and observations. Shaped in a variety of forms and language, the poems articulate things unspoken and illuminate the perceptible layers of political, cultural, and personal truths. Revelations is a poetry collection that sings of necessity and relevance. Throughout its narrative journey, Mel Donalson reminds us of the role the poet must play in a world that is often as unjust as it is wondrous. Whether he's examining the madness of a mass shooting, or reflecting on a son's proud love for his father, there is grace pressed between the pages of these poems. There is also wit, music, and hope. -Eric Morago, Poet, author of Secret Origin, First Kill, What We Ache For, and Feasting on Sky Mel Donalson writes a brilliant, thoughtful, raw, and emotionally infused collection of poems that bite, chew, holler, moan, push and pull us into the underbelly of our existence. Our future is opaque on tender hooks, and Donalson provides creative ways to see and to keep us connected to our humanity while prodding us to "to be more" and while protecting the "prize"-ourselves and those we love. -Gerda Govine, Ed.D.; Poet, Organizer of the Pasadena Rose Poets, 2016; and author of Oh, Where is My Candle Hat?; Alterations|Thread Light Through Eye of Storm; and Future Awakes in Mouth of NOW.
