This book takes the reader on a steam-hauled journey on the Southern Region, taking in places such as Waterloo, Basingstoke, Southampton, Bournemouth, Weymouth, Salisbury, and Exeter before heading into Cornwall, with many diversions along the way. This is the third in a series that will explore each of the BR regions. The companion volume, "Rex Conway's Midland Steam Journey Volume Two" is due to be published in 2011.
