Abstract: As the title of the book cover states, this 17-volume mini-series is about tourism and travel, each tour concept based out of select popular tourist hubs in the American Southwest. National parks and monuments, state and tribal parks, and archeological ruins scattered around the Colorado Plateau Province are featured in the series. The excursions relegated to these hubs and regions are dubbed "Circle tours" because the tour begins and ends in the same place. Depending on the grouping of the scenic destinations featured in any of the seventeen tours presented in the series, the number of travel days varies, with an average of five to six days per tour. All the destinations relative to a specific hub and the general direction taken are under two hundred miles (each way). It's also the distance and time factor that makes the circle tour concept more convenient and economical for travelers. Therefore, a savings based on a practical and linear out and back routing. Depending on the direction also depends on what scenic destinations are included in the tour. For example, Flagstaff destinations can go directly east and return directly west or via another route that takes travelers back to Flagstaff. Other scenic destinations are to the north and northeast, and, therefore, denote other books in the series (i.e., scenic places to visit). Each hub, therefore, provides a direct or indirect return. Buy one, buy several, or buy the entire series, which, of course, depends on one's interest in places to see and learn about all the scenic destinations. This aspect is also the other notable advantage and utility to readers: learning the what, where, how, when, and why factors based on geology, natural and human history, hiking trails, and other relevant information applicable to each destination. Therefore, enlightened readers who will know more about the places featured on the tour.
