Room Acoustics
Autor Heinrich Kuttruff, Michael Vorländeren Limba Engleză Hardback – 24 iul 2024
This seventh edition is developed to cover new measurement and simulation techniques, including sections on spatial and directional analysis and on recent psychophysical experimental approaches to determining auditory perception in concert halls. Other important topics include the various mechanisms of sound absorption and their practical application, as well as scattering through wall corrugations. The design and performance of sound reinforcement systems is also updated. As in previous editions, special emphasis is placed on the properties and calculation of reverberation.
The book particularly suits graduate students in the field, acoustical engineers, and architects.

Notă biografică
Heinrich Kuttruff is Emeritus Professor and former head of the Institute of Technical Acoustics at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He has received the Rayleigh Medal from the British Institute of Acoustics, the Helmholtz Medal from the German Society for Acoustics, and the silver medal from the French Society of Acoustics. He is a member of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences, Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Acoustics, and honorary member of the German Society for Acoustics.
Michael Vorländer has been Professor of Technical Acoustics at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, since 1996. He has received the Rayleigh Medal from the British Institute of Acoustics, the W.C. Sabine Medal from the Acoustical Society of America, and the EAA award for contribution to promotion of acoustics in Europe from the European Acoustics Association. His main research interests are auralisation and acoustic virtual reality in their various applications in architectural acoustics, the automotive industry, and noise control.

Descriere
This classic work emphasises the properties and calculation of reverberation. It now covers new measurement and simulation techniques, spatial and directional analysis, psychophysical experimental approaches, sound absorption and scattering through wall corrugations; and the design and performance of sound reinforcement systems.
