Brave ten-year-old Rory must undertake a perilous journey to save his village from drought and certain starvation. He must find his way to the Half Moon Mountains, and survive several dangerous encounters, to obtain the magical willow wand. Rory is called upon to use his wits, courage, and his great-grandfather's journal of his own journey many years before, to complete this dangerous quest.
