Running Scared

Gregory loves numbers - they don't change and you can always count on them, literally. Focusing on numbers and math problems allows him to avoid thinking about some other things in his life.
Gregory was there when his dad died in a car crash. Ever since the accident, he has not been able to return to the neighbourhood where the crash happened - too many bad memories. To avoid that neighbourhood, though, Gregory takes a long circuitous route to get to school every morning. The new route takes him through a neighbourhood where he attracts the attention of  bullies. But he can't tell anyone without talking about the reason he takes the long way to school.
Then Gregory's school is threatened with closure and he can no longer hide from his problems. Getting to the new school will mean taking a bus to class - and the bus stop is at the spot where the car accident happened. Will Gregory's love of numbers and math help him find a way to overcome his fears in time?
