Lacey and Kenneth Palmer lead a nice, quiet life in suburban Denver with their son, Matt, when the nightmare begins. Ken is arrested for tax evasion when four million dollars is "missing" .After he is tried and convicted, Lacey embarks on a mission to find out what really happened and clear her husband of the false charges. The trail takes her to Switzerland only to discover a cleaned-out bank account and onward to the Caribbean after illegally breaking computerized bank codes with the help from a witness whose testimony helped convict her husband. Lacey then learns that the money is being slowly filtered back into Colorado once again. What the money is used for brings her to a terrifying discovery and endangers her family, as well as the entire country, and the nightmare takes on gigantic proportions when Lacey ultimately discovers the secret of S.W.A.N.
