"Safely Working From the Ground Up" was written for employers trying to figure out where to start when implementing workplace safety. The guidance provided does not require hiring or retaining a Safety Professional. It is based on concepts developed by "The Safely Working Project " including Safely Working, Safe 6, and Sensible Care. Check out what others have said about the book below. For more information on The Project go to safe6 dot net. New and Improved Safe 6 "Safe 6" was originally conceived eight years ago. It went through many changes before I settled on the 6 Safely Working Skills officially published in 2014: Recognize - Prepare - Inspect - Control - Operate - Guard.
Those descriptors have worked well over the years. However, the label "Operate" has always been a little awkward. I have replaced "Operate" with "Engage." While the original Safe 6 is found throughout this edition of the book the newly revised and expanded 2nd edition of "Safely Working from the Ground Up" incorporates this long overdue change.
