86 year old Sammy Levine is desperately unhappy with life in a nursing home. With little money, but plenty of wit and willpower, Sammy hatches a plan to escape. Carrying only the knapsack that contains the urn in which his late wife Esther now resides, he makes his way back to his native New Orleans, where a dramatic reckoning with his past awaits.
