This text is exclusively devoted to a broad perspective of research interests centred around environmental geochemistry and the coupling of geology and geochemistry in sandstones. The main focus is to provide a well-balanced, up-to-date overview of all aspects related to geology, geochemistry and the understanding of ground-water systems, as geochemistry has contributed significantly to the understanding of ground-water systems.
