Leslie A. Heaphy is an associate professor of history at Kent State University, Stark Campus, in Canton, Ohio. She is the editor of Black Baseball and Chicago (2006), co-editor of Encyclopedia of Women and Baseball (2006) and author of The Negro Leagues, 1869-1960 (2003). She lives in North Canton.
