Sea Clutter: Scattering, the K Distribution and Radar Performance: Radar, Sonar and Navigation, cartea 20

Autor Keith D. Ward, Robert Tough, Simon Watts
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 iun 2006
This book examines the statistics of radar scattering from the sea surface in terms of their relevance to radar operating in a maritime environment; including remote sensing, surveillance and targeting appliances. A lot of the work in the book iss based on the compound K-distribution model for the amplitude statistics of sea clutter. In addition, the book addresses the specification of performance required by customers and the measurement of performance of systems supplied to customers.

Notă biografică

Professor Simon Watts is currently Chief Scientist at Thales Airborne Systems, UK. He is a Visiting Professor and external examiner for UCL, in the department of electronics and electrical engineering. Dr Keith Ward has worked on radar and military systems throughout his career. Target detection algorithms he developed are being incorporated into in-service radars, while ocean imaging results he obtained at low grazing angles are having significant impact on remote sensing applications. Dr Robert Tough has worked at RSRE/DERA for the past 20 years within the Maritime Radar department. He has carried out extensive research on ocean imaging, small target detection, rough surface scattering, detection theory and range profile classification for a number of clients based in the UK and USA.
