Wisdom Knowledge For many centuries, the owl has been a symbol of wisdom and knowledge. This association extends back to ancient Greece, when Athena, Athens' goddess of wisdom, had the owl as a symbol. In addition, many historians trace the owl, as a symbol of wisdom, to the culture of Old Europe. It is not surprising that the Bible places great value on "the wisdom of God." Then, it is predictable for Solomon to proclaim: "How much better is it to get wisdom than gold And to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver " (Proverbs 16:16) Wisdom and understanding are more valuable to the Christian, than silver and gold As Christians navigate the waters of life, many obstacles are encountered. Selecting travel routes that circumvent these obstacles requires the wisdom of God. Parents are instructed to bring children up in the nurture and admonition of God. (Eph. 6:4) The manner, timing and content of this instruction is dependent upon the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God is unquestionably the foundation and anchor for the Christian's faith
