Notă biografică
Dudley Marvin Canright (1840-1919). The early years of Canright's involvement in the Seventh-day Adventist church were full of hope and youthful enthusiasm for this new Sabbath movement, introduced to him through the preaching of James White in New York state in 1859. After serving as James White's secretary, Canright entered the ministry and was an evangelist and minister for over 20 years, during which time he was elected to the General Conference Executive Committee and as president of the Sabbath School Association of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.During the 1886 General Conference session, Canright became involved in a Biblical disagreement with the brethren and, in 1889, he decided to leave the church and asked for his membership to be removed from the books.
