"Women. You can't live with 'em, you can't live without 'em," pretty much describes the extent of a lovesick broken-down former rodeo bull rider's relationship with his ex-wife. If Sam Peckinpah were influenced by David Lynch you would have a screenplay like Sex & Violence. Sex & Violence is a genre twisting desert noir, rom-com, shoot 'em up. While Jack Raincloud, a half-breed, lovesick, broken-down, former rodeo bull rider, was breaking rocks in the hot sun his wife, Jennifer, transformed from a plain Jane waitress at the local Waffle House into the hottest stripper in a corrupt bordertown where everyone is a thug, a grifter or a degenerate. Upon release from prison, Jack finds that his wife divorced him and is now making time with a misogynist strip club patron. Jack's parole officer coerces him to deliver money for a kinky drug dealer, who is in law enforcement's crosshairs, and who also happens to be the bordertown's credit dentist. Jack uses the drug dealer's money to bet on a crocked horse race. On the same night that Jack gets into his old Cadillac to leave town, Jennifer shoots her sugar daddy while he is raping her. Jennifer fleas into the night wearing only a gold lam G-string and clutching a nickel-plated .357 Magnum pistol. Soon they are on the lam together. The drug kingpin dentist seeking Jack to get his money back and to exact punishment. And the law on Jennifer's trail for the homicide. But, they must wait out the night so she can retrieve six-figures of cold hard cash, her nest egg acquired from years of stripping & pole-dancing, secured in a bank safe deposit box.
