I got to the point where I was ready to throw out the Bible. The stories in it made no sense to me...stories of rape, murder, violence, and deception. Just reading the book of Genesis was like reading about modern-day terrorists, high school shooters, and flagrant abuse of women. The shadow play that occurs within a spiritual or religious community about sexual and spiritual abuse by religious leaders continues to cause trauma to many who are connecting to these communities. It is my intent to expose, to explore the extent of the damage, and to examine what the truth is as opposed to falsehood-to address specific issues impacted by abuse within a religious setting, how the effects of this continue even for those in the body of Christ who have not directly been sexually abused. This sharing is intended to help others to heal, for those who have gone through incredible trauma. This story is about real war.
