Methods of work are discussed and full construction details are illustrated. Chairs, tables, pie safes and other classic Shaker designs are included in this great book. Traditional oval boxes, a wall clock and a step stool are also illustrated. One project that you will certainly want to build is the traditional Shaker rocking chair and the book shows you how to build it. The book also shows you how to ‘rush’ the seat. John Kelsey is a journalist, an editor, and a writer who specializes in woodworking and furniture making. He is a former editor in chief of Fine Woodworking magazine and a publisher of woodworking and home building books at Taunton Press. He is the author of several woodworking books, including Furniture Projects for the Deck and Lawn and Kid Crafts: Woodworking. He serves as the Editorial Director for Fox Chapel Publishing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
